Afternoon Adventures

Afternoon Adventure is an after school program facilitated by volunteers from Chilliwack Alliance Church for Robertson Elementary families with students in grade 2 - 5. It provides a safe, fun and productive environment for families who cannot afford traditional after school programs for their children. Imagination Station

The Imagination Station program will challenge students to think outside the box to create their own activities within the classroom. This artistic and inventive program will encourage students to come up with arts, crafts and projects thtat they can work with others to achieve something only their imaginations could think of!

After School Activity Club

Every term a new group of grade 3 – 6 students can participate in the After School Activity Club on Monday and Wednesdays from 2:18-3:00pm. There is a limited enrollment each term and is on a first come, first serve basis. Students enrolled in After School Activity Club are reminded that is a term commitment and that pick-up arrangements should be made in the morning before school. A new group of students interested in the After School Activity Club will be chosen each term.

After School Homework Club

Homework club takes place on Tuesday’s and Thursday for intermediate students. If your child has a need for additional support, please speak to your child’s teacher about enrolling for this program.

Nature Club

Are you interested in learning about our environment? Do you like to discover new things? If so, Nature Club might be for you! We will be welcoming guest speakers, from the Fraser Valley Regional District, as well as other Naturalist Club Specialists. We will be doing some planting, recycling/reusing, exploring our environment and other exciting activities!

Kids CODE

The Kids CODE Program, with assistance from kidsCODEjeunesse.com, will offer an introduction to CODE with HTML/CSS program. Students will be able to learn how code can be used to make computer games, animations and websites. It is necessary for each participant to attend each session, or make up a session, as there we be a final project that will be completed at the end of the program.

Interactivity Games

The Interactivity Games Program will provide students with the opportunity to build relationships through participating in board games.  The students will meet after school on the intermediate playground for 15 minutes before entering the Multipurpose Room where there students’ minds will be challenged during these fun-filled sessions.  Robertson would like to acknowledge the PAC and parents within the school who have donated games to make this program possible for our students.

As a result of a grant proposal for the After School Sports and Art Initiative and in partnership with Central Community School, Bernard and McCammon Elementary, we have continued with this amazing program for our sixth year!

Lacrosse

The Lacrosse Program that is being offered at Robertson Elementary will give the opportunity for children to learn about the history and how to play the sport of lacrosse.  This program will put emphasis on the enjoyment of the game, and introduce players to the game that have never played before.  Also, the program will promote healthy living and nutrition by providing a healthy snack to each student, while going explaining the importance of having a well-balanced lifestyle.

Future Stars Program

The Future Stars Program will bring out the performer in anyone by engaging the participants in performing arts games and activities.  An emphasis will be on theatrical arts, however, song, dance, comedy and other arts will also be incorporated into the program.  With a focus on building confidence and teamwork, the goal of the program will be to present a final project, which includes the work of the students. Future Stars Program will be held on Wednesdays.

Kinecting Kids Program

The after-school Kinecting Kids Program will be using the technology of an Xbox 360 Kinect to keep children engaged while keeping them active!  Whether children want to show off their dancing skills while playing Just Dance Kids, score a goal in Kinect Sports, go to the Kinect Carnival or take an adventure to Kinect Disneyland, this is the opportunity for students to “Kinect” with other students in our Robertson family!

Creative Music Club

Do you love music? Are you interested in creating music with other students who love music too? If so, the Creative Music Club might be for you! We will be exploring song writing, instrument accompaniment and creative movement. Our goal is to perform our song at the year-end music concert.
